Robert Earl Robertson

Robert Earl Robertson, age 87, of Dublin, went to be with the Lord December 16.  Services  will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Rock Springs Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  Rev. Kevin Tanner and Rev. Nolon McDaniel will officiate.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.

Mr. Robertson farmed, and worked at the Coca-Cola Company, and the Laurens County Public Works Department from which he retired in 1994.  He was a member of the Red Hill Lodge # 533 for over sixty years.

Mr. Robertson was baptized in 1940 at Rock Springs Baptist Church and was a faithful member ever since, very active in his Adult Sunday School and the Men’s Ministries.  He was ordained as a Deacon in 1999 and loved to serve his Lord and loved his church.  He was a very loving and kindhearted man who had many friends.  He will be missed by many. 

Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his wife, Bobby Jean Bracewell; parents, Dyke and Alma Herndon Robertson; and brothers, Marcus Robertson and D. G. Robertson.

Survivors include his children, Cathie (Tommy) Cumbee, and Robert Robertson, both of Dublin; grandchildren, Lori (Dan) Snipes, of Statesboro, Clay Crumpton, of Dublin; great grandchildren, Domanic and Colin Crumpton, both of Dublin, and Caroline and Carter Snipes, both of Statesboro; sisters-in-law, Willena Wilkes, Johnnie Mae Brack, and Mary Bracewell; and several nieces and nephews. 

Keith Hogan, John Robinson, Michael Windham, Danny Howard, George Egas, and Derek Smith will serve as pallbearers.   The members of the Masonic Red Hill Lodge # 533 will serve as honorary pallbearers and will conduct Masonic Rites at the graveside.
