Carroll Wyman Alligood

Carroll Wyman Alligood, age 85, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, in Dublin, GA. Born on January 16, 1939, in Dexter, GA, Carroll's life was a testament to the power of kindness and dedication to family.

Carroll was predeceased by his loving wife, Avis C. Alligood, his parents, Preston and Gladys Alligood, his brother-in-law, Aaron Johnson, and his step-son, Ronnie Mosley. His memory will be treasured and kept alive by his daughter, Stacy Roberts (Eddie) of Brunswick, GA; his sister, Patricia Johnson of Dexter, GA; his brother, Donnie Alligood (Diane) of Dexter, GA; his grandson, Donovan Roberts; his granddaughter, Margo Roberts; his step-son, Gene Mosley (Jean) of Dublin; his step-grandson, Tracey Mosley (Angie) of Dublin; his step-granddaughters, Rhonda Mosley Lumley and Holly Self of Dublin, GA; also several step-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and brothers-in-law, Clarence Childers (Pam) and Arthur Childers

He is also survived by a very special nephew, Chris Chavis (Amanda), and their children and grandson, Laura, Colby, Hayley, and JT.

Carroll's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family and his work. After a long and distinguished career, he retired from East Gas Company, where he was recognized as a top performer. He was also a former member of the Dublin Moose Lodge.

Mr. Alligood was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was a Godly man who loved Jesus so much and looked forward to the day that he would be in Heaven with Him. 

Those who knew Carroll will remember him as a loving person, a hardworking individual, and a loving father and brother. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures, cherishing time spent with family and friends above all else. His love was felt every day and his actions spoke volumes of the depth of his affection and commitment.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Alligood will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Alligood Family Cemetery. Rev. Baron Powell will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Alligood, Sean Alligood, Tim Johnson, Tony Johnson, Donovan Roberts, and Eddie Roberts.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt, “Thank You”,  to all the employees and staff of Dublinair Health and Rehab for the compassion and care shown to Mr. Carroll, or as some would call him “Buck”.
