Gary Patrick Ladue

Gary Patrick Ladue, a cherished family man, respected educator, and proud U.S. Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024, in Dublin, Georgia. Born on March 17, 1949, in Saint Albans, Vermont, to the late Roland Lawrence Ladue and the late Lucille Anne Phillips Ladue Day, Gary's life was a testament to his loving, generous, and friendly nature.

 After completing his master's degree from Georgia College, Gary dedicated himself to the field of education, where he influenced countless lives as an educator at the Heart of GA Technical College. His commitment to his community was further exemplified through his service as a Dudley City Councilman and as a member of the Dudley Baptist Church. Gary was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons.

A man of honor and courage, Gary served his country as a sailor on the USS Long Beach during the Vietnam War. His time in the U.S. Navy was a source of great pride and instilled in him a sense of duty that he carried throughout his life.

Gary's love for his family was boundless. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Ellen Weaver Ladue, and a loving father to his daughter, Amanda Locke (Jason) of Dudley, and son, Patrick Ladue of Denver, Colorado. His joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Jackson and Ellie Locke. Gary is also survived by his brother, Mark Ladue; sisters, Karen Packard and Sue McInnis; step-father, Tom Day; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, and wife, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Martha. His legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 29, 2024, in the I.J. Duggan Cemetery. Rev. Matt Greene and Rev. Clint Crozier will officiate.
