Larry Gene Jones

Celebration of Life services for Larry Gene Jones, age 89, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Dudley Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Green officiating.

Mr. Jones was born March 22, 1935 in Diamond Hill, Georgia but lived most of his life in Athens, Georgia before making his home in Dublin since 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Clinton Jones and Margie Holcomb Jones, a daughter, Leann Seymour McHenry and a son, Jeff Jones. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War and he attended Dudley Baptist Church. He was also a graduate of the University of Georgia. After retiring from the accounting division of Norcom in Norcross, Georgia, he worked for WMSL Christian Radio and volunteered at the Mercy Clinic in Athens and for Hospice.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anne Malone Jones; two daughters, Kathy (Don) Thompson and Chris Wujcik; a son, Chuck Jones; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Karen) Jones and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the church.
