Annette Beall Obituary

Annette S. Beall, age 91, a longtime resident of Dublin, Georgia, passed away peacefully on her birthday, April 13. She was born to the late Mackey and Vera Sears in Cedar Grove, Georgia. Her siblings, Gladys Ethridge and Jack Sears, and her daughter, Suzanne Stewart, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Lewis Smith, of Jacksonville, Florida; her grandchildren, Daniel (Bessie) Stewart, Steve Smith, Jonathan (Diana) Smith, David (Ellen) Smith, Joanna (Neil) Vitro, and Susanna (Pedro) Quinones; as well as nine great-grandchildren, Ellie and Ben Stewart, Christina and Nathan Smith, Matthew Vitro, Vera and Peter Smith, and Olivia and Oliver Quinones.

Not long after high school graduation, Annette took a job at Oatts Drug Company.  Romance began to bud when she met her future husband, pharmacist Lewis Smith. She worked at the pharmacy as a clerk and then as a bookkeeper for many years. Her razor-sharp memory was a great asset there. During those years, she raised their two children and developed lifelong friendships. Her husband Lewis came from a large family, which developed into Annette's being related to almost half of Dublin - or so they say!

Lewis, Sr. died after almost forty years of marriage, and Annette later remarried Bob Beall. Their fifteen-year marriage was filled with new adventures, as Bob was retired military and loved to travel. They made trips to the Holy Land and enjoyed attending events at the military base in Warner Robins. After Bob's death in 2007, she continued to love her Friendship Class at First United Methodist Church, traveling, and shopping with friends. Annette had recently sold her home, moved to Addington Place, and was doing well. However, Covid, pneumonia, and then a fall led to her death.

Mrs. Beall's grandchildren remember her famous salmon croquettes, fresh butter peas, and field peas. She loved Bobby Willis's joke with the kids when he called his homemade peach ice cream "squash ice cream"!

Annette Beall was kind, loving, forgiving, and grateful. As she aged, she said that every morning when she awoke, she thanked the Lord for another day. She prayed for all of her family, as well as others. She was motivated by her faith in the Lord Jesus and was looking forward to being in heaven.
