Bennie Hammock

Benjamine “Bennie” Roscoe Hammock, passed away on April 14, 2024, at the age of 74. Bennie was a lifelong resident of Dublin, Georgia, born on July 21, 1949, to the late Roscoe and Olean Cauley Hammock.

Bennie was a loving husband to his wife, Sue Hammock, and to his children, Lee Hammock, Dwayne Hammock, and Stephanie (Jeff) Wright. His role as a loving daddy extended to his role as a doting Papa to his grandchildren: Bennie Lee "Jr." Hammock, David Hammock, Nicholas Griffith, Raven (Riley) Hammock, Lace (Keaven) Newman, Cheyenne (Matthew) Hammock, and Lauren Hammock, as well as his eight great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

For many years, Bennie was the proud owner and operator of his own stump grinding business, where his hard work and reliability were known throughout the community. He loved the outdoors, where he found solace and excitement in hunting and fishing. His weekends were often spent at the race track and listening to old country music on the Classic Country Jukebox on Saturday nights.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

A funeral service celebrating Bennie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17th, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Wilkes Church of the Nazarene Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Glover, Tommy Garrett, Kelvin Foskey, Steven Powell, Jesse Burch, and Matthew Norton. Chris Stoddard will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
