Alton H. Stewart, Jr.

Alton H. Stewart, Jr., age 75, of Dublin, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 10:00AM in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Myron Wise will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Dublin Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Stewart was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a devoted husband of 43 years to his wife, Pansy Frierson Stewart, and was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Hinton Stewart, Sr. and Evelyn Kaney Stewart.

In addition to his wife, Pansy, he is survived by son, Britt Stewart (Stephanie), of Cochran; daughters, Diane Sullivan (Scott), and Melissa Merritt, both of Dublin; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Penny, Nicholas Sullivan, Abigail Muncher, Dylan Sullivan, Joseph Stewart, and Bryson Merritt; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ballard, and Rebecca Meeks (Jerry), both of Dublin, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dublin First Church of the Nazarene in Honor of Rev. Myron Wise or to Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 134 Abney Road, Cochran, GA 31014.
