Ann (Hobbs) Buice

Mrs. Ann Hobbs Buice, age 88, of Waycross, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 after a courageous battle with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer.

Mrs. Buice was born in Laurens County on January 14, 1930 to the late Willie Horace and Inez Jones Hobbs. She graduated from Tift College cum laude with a major in English and minor in Music. Her love and devotion for Christ was evident in all areas of her life. She dedicated her life to sharing her faith and musical talents with others through teaching piano lessons and as a pianist for many churches. Mrs. Buice was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waycross, GA where she was very active in various areas of ministry. She was a loving mother and “Mimi” and will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Buice.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Bustle (Eric) and Jacque Kemp (Mike), both of Grayson, GA; son, Jay Buice, of Duluth, GA; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Buice will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Marie Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Alan Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until funeral hour at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the following: First Baptist Church of Waycross, Baptist Village of Waycross, Hospice Satilla or to the Emory Winship Cancer Institute.
