Billy Ray Laster

Billy Ray Laster, age 71, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Mount Olive Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow in Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene Cemetery. Rev. Gordon Tippins, Rev. Lamar Brantley, and Rev. Tim Tharp will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Laster was a retired State Trooper, a member of Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene, an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a great supporter of Nazarene Ministry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Laster and Ester Marsh Laster, and his sister Helen Gray.

Survivors include his wife Janice Laster of East Dublin, his sister Judy McDonald (Wayne) of Gibson, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.

The State Patrol Honor Guard will serve as Pallbearers. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be; John V. Thigpen, Donald Warnock, Doyle Knight, Robbie Jones, Clifton Flanders, Robert Soles, Gary McCord, Autry Brantley, Ed Knight, Jimmy Knight, Bobo Thompson, Billy Thompson, and also active and retired Law Enforcement Officers.
