Bobbie Putnam Hawkins, age 80, of Dublin, passed away on March 19, 2019.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00PM until funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Trey Hawkins, Justin Franks, Tom Wilson, and Max Wilson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Beacham and Billy Scarboro.
Mrs. Hawkins retired from the Dublin City School system, where she worked as a school secretary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dublin, Order of the Eastern Star, Dublin Country Club, and member of the Council on Aging Senior Center. She was an avid reader and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James A. Hawkins, Sr.; father D.W. Putnam; and mother, Bertha Putnam.
Survivors include her son, James Hawkins Jr. (Cheri), of Dublin; daughter, Kim Wilson (Tommy), of Ocilla; grandchildren, Brandi Wilson, of Washington State, Erin Franks (Justin), of Jesup, T.J. Wilson (Lindsey), of Ocilla, and Trey Hawkins, of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Tom Wilson, Max Wilson, Celi Wilson, Emma Wilson, Blair Franks, and Easton Wilson; brother-in-law, Carter Hawkins (Marialyce), of Pensacola, FL; sister-in-law, Martha McGinnis, of Jacksonville, FL, and aunts, Carolyn Taylor, of Woodruff, SC and Angelyn Melton (GW), of Rutherfordton, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Laurens County Senior Citizen Center, P.O. Box 8211, Dublin, GA 31021.
