Services for Bobby V. Carter, age 85, of East Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Collins, Allen Wynn, and Ricky Warnock will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Carter was the last remaining child of Jessie and Mary Lizzie Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents and all 12 siblings.
Bobby was a proud member of the I.B.E.W., International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 50 years. He was a member of Macon Local 1316. After retirement, he spent countless hours volunteering with the men of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church.
Bobby was a member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church for 60 years. He served as a deacon, training union director, and Sunday School director.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Ann Carter, of East Dublin; children, Vickie C. Anderson, Anthony (Lisa) Carter, all of East Dublin, Lynn (Kenny) Odom, of Adrian; grandchildren, Matt (Krista) Anderson, Renee (Blake) Soles, Mychelle (Jason) Owens, Grant (Charlotte) Page, all of East Dublin, Kyle Odom, of Adrian, Lana (Blair) Rogers, of Dudley, Haley (Jody) Grant, of Lenox, Ryan Page, of Dublin; and eighteen great grandchildren.
The love from his church family during the last few months made a very hard time so much more bearable.
Matt Anderson, Grant Page, Cam Oliver, Chase Oliver, Kyle Odom, Jason Owens, Blake Soles, and Colby Owens will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Wynn, Jeffrey Pullen, Chris Pullen, Bert Thigpen, Kevin Beacham, Josh Warnock, Columbus Pullen, and the deacons of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church.
