Charles Louis Allen

Services for Charles Louis Allen, age 79, of Dexter, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 8, 2019 , in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Mike Peacock will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, and retired plumber and electrician. He enjoyed fishing and cooking for people he loved. When Jimmy Carter was president, he was invited to Washington to cook and feed the White House and the delegation from Georgia.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by parents, Julian Richard and Nannie Elizabeth Gilbert Allen; wife, Sara Jean Kennedy Allen; son Charles Larry Allen; brother, M. G. Allen; sisters, Lillian Perry, and Glenda Faye Thigpen.

Survivors include sons, Michael David Allen (Judy), and Bobby Gene Allen, both of Dexter; grandchildren, Landon Hodges, Casey Lynn Semple (Kyle), Cole Hodges, Nicole Eberli (Nick), Bridget Allen, and Crystal Williams; three great grandchildren; siblings, Judy Vaughn, of Glenwood, Jimmy Allen (Sara) , of Dublin, Elizabeth Tarpley, of Dublin, Luis Allen (Gail), of Texas,  Virgil Allen (Barbara), of Dexter; sister-in-law, Carolyn Allen, and brother-in-law, James Thigpen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Landon Hodges, Cole Hodges, Gil Allen, Kevin Allen, Lance Tarpley, Jason Allen, Richie Allen, and Paul Perry, will serve as pallbearers.
