Doris (Ethridge) Tyson

Doris Ethridge Tyson, age 90, entered her Heavenly Home, Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Serenity Place, Dublin.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 15, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Greg Lowery will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Tyson was preceded in death by her parents; Alvin Z.  and Ella Gay Ethridge, husbands; Albert Jackson, Osbert Townsend and Robert Tyson, stepsons; Kelvin Tyson, and Wendell Tyson, siblings; Talmadge Ethridge, Obie Ethridge, Venera Ethridge.

She was a class of 1945 graduate of Milan High School, and was retired from Allen- Bradley, and was employed for many years at Dublin Garment Company.  Doris was also former owner and operator of Lakeside Restaurant, Cadwell.  She was a longtime and faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Her hobbies included growing and maintaining her beautiful flower gardens, sewing, crocheting and listening to Gospel Music.  She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a strong lady of perseverance who fought the fight and kept the faith.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Scott Tyson of Portland, Oregon, Kyle Tyson of Kuwait, Ashlie Tyson of Savannah, Chris Tyson of Swainsboro and Pace Tyson of Dublin. Numerous nieces and nephews, sisters in law, brothers in law and many friends.

Pace Tyson, Chris Tyson, Terry Tyson, Tren Watson, Steve Mullis, Sr. and Johnny Spivey will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Serenity Hospice Place, Fairview Park Hospital, Shamrock Healthcare and Dublin Place for their care and compassion.

In addition to flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
