Elizabeth (Betsy) Greer Ezell, age 78, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019, in Dublin, Georgia. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and was the oldest daughter of Marguerite Wassenich Ezell and James (Jimmy) Ridley Ezell.
Betsy spent most of her childhood in Macon and went to the University of Georgia where she earned a B.S. in Home Economics, Housing and Home Management. She later returned to UGA and earned a degree in Interior Design. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
She was retired from Middle Georgia Business Products in Dublin. Betsy had also worked for Christopher Michael’s Furniture & Interiors, Brown Furniture & Interiors, Corning Glass Works, in Corning, New York, and Georgia Power Company in Atlanta.
Betsy loved her family, her friends and her church. She had been a loyal and active member of First United Methodist Church of Dublin for many years. She was a member of the Cousins Sunday School class, Thursday Morning Sharing Group, and several bible study groups. Betsy was always ready to volunteer and she supported many missions of the church.
Survivors include her sisters Martha Symon, of Evans, Georgia, and Sally McIntosh, of Macon, Georgia, nephew Ted R. Symon, of Augusta, Georgia, and niece Neal Elizabeth McIntosh, of Sacramento, California.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Dublin, on Friday, June 28, at 10:00 a.m., with Jim Cowart officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be in West View Cemetery, Monticello, Georgia, later that day.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church of Dublin’s Capital Campaign or the charity of choice.
