Elmer Williams, age 80, of Dublin, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019.
Mr. Williams was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church. He retired from civil service and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Elmer was a volunteer at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elisha and Lessie Howell Williams; wife, Shelby Jean Lovett Williams; two infant children, Darrell and Julie Ann; grandson, Brad Hudson; siblings, Annie L. Mullis, Lonnie Pearl Bryan, Margie Newsome, Edwin Williams, Betty Williams, and Elbert Williams.
Survivors include his daughters, Teresa Hudson, of Dublin, and Beth Blankinship (David), of Melbrook, AL; grandson, Garrett Hudson, of Birmingham, AL; granddaughters, Felicia Swinney, of Muncie, IN, and Christine Mimbs (Kevin). Of Dublin, GA; great-grandchildren, Silas Swinney, Indi Swinney, Gracie Mimbs, and Austin Mimbs; sister, Sarah Brown, of Warner Robins; brother, Wayne Williams, Sr., (Evelyn), of East Dublin, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Hugh Spivey will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until funeral hour at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Taylor, Wayne Williams, Matt Taylor, Bryan Carrier, Ben Slappey, and Rickey Carrier.
