Emory Dennis Pittman

Services for Emory Dennis Pittman, age 76, of Rentz, will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Rentz Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Rentz Cemetery.  Rev. Tom Vann, Rev. Grady Mimbs and Jeff Handley will officiate.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Pittman was a member of Rentz Baptist Church and was a retired maintenance supervisor for the Laurens County Board of Education. He was a US Army Veteran, an avid fisherman, and race car fan. Emory was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Lizzie Pittman. He passed away Friday, November 30, 2018.

Survivors include his wife; Mickie Pittman; son, Bill Pittman; grandchildren, Weston Pittman, Skyler Pittman, Logan Pittman, all of Rentz; brother, Johnny (Betty) Pittman of Dexter; cousin, Jimmy Britt of Greensboro; special friend, Kathy Hilliard Skuza of Fitzgerald; loving puppies, Homer and Buddy, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Charles Meadows, Jeff Myers, Jimmy Stewart, Johnny Pittman, Rick Pittman and James Pittman will serve as pallbearers.  Donnie Gay, Ricky Brantley, Larry Morgan, Eddie Morgan, Jerry Morgan, Alvin Jonson, Jerry Pitts, Edwin “Roho” Upshaw, and Steve Drew will serve as honorary pallbearers.
