George Alva Pheil

George Alva Pheil, 82, of Dublin passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, January 16, 2019, at Southland Nursing and Rehab Facility.

A memorial service will be held at Dublin First Church of the Nazarene at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019.  Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until service hour. Sr. Pastor Don Hicks and Pastor Myron Wise will officiate.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Tyson Pheil of Dublin, and sister, Jo Ann Cross of Pineview, Georgia, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Mr. Pheil was born in Inverness, Florida on March 14, 1936 to the late Walter and Gladys (Vinzant) Pheil. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Walter Pheil, Jr. and sister, Elizabeth Phillips.

He married Carolyn Tyson on August 4, 1956, and they were married for 62 ½ years.   He was a photographer with Kimball Studios for 35 years and a carrier for the Courier Herald for 15 years. Mr. Pheil was a member of Dublin First Church of the Nazarene and the Terry Soles Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in his memory to Integrity Hospice or Dublin First Church of the Nazarene.
