Gerson William Pollard, age 85, of East Dublin, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019.
Mr. Pollard was Veteran of the United States Army and a devoted member and Deacon of East Dublin Dayspring Worship Center. He was a compassionate friend to all those he met and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jefferson Pollard and Lucille Stevens Pollard; sister, June P. Taylor, and brother, Lawrence Pollard.
Gerson was a loving son, brother, and faithful loving husband of 63 years to Martha Nell Bassett Pollard.
He was a wonderful father to three children; Terrie Lynn Pollard, of East Dublin, William “Bill” M. Pollard, of Montrose, and Dwayne F. Pollard, of East Dublin; awesome grandfather to four grandchildren; Toni, Tabby, Jamie, and Jet; and awesome great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren; Fisher, Raidyn, Maddyn, Finley, Bayne, and Breckyn.
In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Mr. Pollard is survived by a brother, Jerry Pollard and Family of Roanoke, AL; sister, Nancy Ann Pollard Brown and Family, of Birmingham, AL, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until funeral hour on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at East Dublin Dayspring Worship Center. Services will follow at 11:00AM at the church with Rev. Kenny Rowland officiate. Burial will be held at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wedowee, AL.
