Services for Mrs. Grace Register Flanders, age 87, of Dublin, will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 2, 2019, at First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Bob Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends just prior to the service at the Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM
Mrs. Flanders, the daughter of the late Otha and Lennie Register, was born and raised in Dublin, Georgia. A 1950 graduate of Dublin High School, she was known as an outstanding athlete and excelled at several sports. Mrs. Flanders and her husband, Hugh G. Flanders, Sr., now deceased, lived most of their lives in Rockledge, Georgia, raising their four children, and faithfully attending the Rockledge United Methodist Church. In her later years, Mrs. Flanders moved closer to Dublin to be near her large and loving family and became a member of the Dublin First United Methodist Church. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she expressed her love through countless family meals and her quiet Christian example.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Flanders was also preceded in death by a son, Frank Monroe Flanders. She passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
She is survived by her children; Emily Kight of Dublin, Gibbs (Theresa) Flanders of Dublin, Philip Flanders of Rockledge, grandchildren; Brian Kight of Dublin, Joshua (Victoria) Kight of Dublin, Jeremy Flanders of Fayetteville, Maria Flanders of Savannah, Daniel Flanders of Salida, CO, Jacob Flanders of Dublin, Brittany Flanders of Dublin, Rebecca Flanders of Atlanta, Rachel Flanders of Atlanta, Sarah Flanders of Milledgeville, great grandchildren; Ava Flanders, River Kight, Silas Kight, Elliot Kight, siblings, Leon (Jo An) Register of Macon, Gene Register of Santa Barbara, CA, Joy Davidson of Dublin and several nieces and nephews.
