Grace Bedingfield Smith

Graveside services for Grace Bedingfield Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Tyler Plaxico will officiate. Mrs. Smith passed away February 22, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Barron Smith; her parents Walter Eli and Julia Taylor Bedingfield; her brothers, William Osler Bedingfield, Henry Herbert Bedingfield, and Walter Hilbert Bedingfield; and her sisters, Lucile Bedingfield Rountree, Lillian Bedingfield Grant, and Eloise Bedingfield Conner.

A lifelong resident of Laurens County, Mrs. Smith was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dublin and a retired member of the Dublin Service League. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Smith Flood and her husband, Lloyd, of Atlanta; grandsons, Barron McGinnis Flood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Benjamin Smith Flood of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews including Dr. Carl O. Bedingfield and Henry H. Bedingfield of Dublin.

The family would like to thank Billy Frost and the staff at Home Instead Senior Care for the kindness and care they provided Mrs. Smith during the last years of her life. The family would especially like to thank her loving caregivers and friends Mary Nelson, Gladys Edwards, Annie Pearl Hall, and Lillie Blue Perry.
