Grace Woodward Obituary
Grace Starnes Woodward, age 94, of Lizella, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
Services will be held at 11:30AM on Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Mr. Ted Jarriel will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until funeral hour on Friday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Casey Bedgood, Jonathan Hight, Chris White, Brandon White, Ronnie Hight, Rick Turner, and Steve McClinton.
Mrs. Woodward was born June 11, 1924 in Newport, TN to the late Abraham and Bertha Hall Starnes. She was a homemaker and loved working in the yard. She was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church, where she was active in the Chapel Choir and an original member of the Cane and Able Choir. She also attended the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and helped with Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Woodward was proud of her Tennessee roots and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to death.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Harry Woodward; daughter, Harriet Hight; six brothers and a sister and their spouses.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda W. White of Dalton, Betty Jean Woodward and Silvia Bedgood both of Lizella, and Robbie Turner (Rick) of Emerald Hills, CA; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Pinepoint Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210 or Jefferson Street Baptist Church, 209 N. Jefferson St. Dublin, GA 31021. They would also like to express their gratitude to Pinepoint Hospice and their caregivers for their kindness.
