Mr. Lynn Grant Rowe, age 73, of Dublin, passed away on February 9, 2019 at his home.
Services for Mr. Rowe will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Bethesda Baptist Church beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow immediately after the service in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Baron Powell will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Rowe was an active member of Bethesda Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since 1987. He also was the song leader and treasure for many years. He was a member of the Red Hill Masonic Lodge #533 for over 50 years. Mr. Rowe was a farmer for his entire life. He served on the Little Ocmulgee EMC Board of Directors, serving as President of the board for several years, served as Vice-President and Director for GA Farm Bureau for several years, served as New Farmers Co-op Director for several years.
Mr. Rowe was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Rowe was preceded in death by his parents; Broughton and Cora Martin Rowe, infant son; Martin Daniel Rowe, and mother and father-in-law; Wade and Ophelia Fordham.
He is survived by his wife; Waylene Fordham Rowe of Dublin, daughter; Wendy Duggan (Tom) of Tennille, son; Broughton Rowe (Sara) of Dublin, grandchildren; Callie Duggan, Thomas Duggan, Madalyn Duggan of Tennille, Colton Rowe, Camille Rowe, Caden Rowe, and Cason Rowe of Dublin, sisters; Gwen St. Pierre (Joe) of West Palm Beach, FL and Ann Wood (Porter) of Dublin, Sister –in-laws; Gail Farr (LE) of Cadwell and Karen Martin (Sammy) of Rentz, brother-in-law; Alan Fordham of Winston – Salem, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
Little Ocmulgee EMC employees Ricky Alligood, Larry Swinson, Troy Giddens, Sam Hill, Anthony White, and Jason Crawford will serve as active pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will include Little Ocmulgee EMC Board of Directors: George Best, Benny Evans, Larue Fountain, Fred Gilder, Jimmy Grimes, Jim Knight, Cary Locke, Wesley Yawn, General Manager Lewis Sheffield and Attorney Russell Clark.
