Hazel (Wilder) Matthews

Hazel W. Matthews, age 94, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018.

Mrs. Matthews was born October 18, 1923 in Laurens County to the late H.W. and Gussie Rogers Wilder. She retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Virgil “Dutch” Foster and Russell Matthews, as well as two sons, Donald Virgil Foster and Terry Newton Foster.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Donald Foster (Kerri), of Griffin, Bart Foster, of Zebulon, and Anita Mastin, of Florida; brother, H.W. Wilder, Jr. (Pat), of Dublin; and multiple great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11:00AM in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Robert Rogers will officiate.
