Jean Tew Price, 90, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Seasons North Georgia Hospice Center, in Cumming, Georgia. Her family celebrates her life and reunion with her husband, Dr. Quentin Price.
Jean was born in Banks, Alabama on November 14, 1928, and spent much of her early life in Savannah, Georgia, where she married Quentin on June 2, 1951. After moving to Alabama for Quentin to attend both pharmacy and medical school, Jean worked as a teacher in Pell City, Alabama. In 1960, Jean and Quentin moved to Dublin, where he served central Georgia as a primary care physician for over four decades.
Jean is preceded in death by her Husband, Dr. Quentin Price and parents, Annie Esther (Pickett) Tew and James Harvey Tew and her sister Joann Tew Lawhon.
Jean is survived by her children, Janet Price Kelley (Tom), of Johns Creek, GA; Dr. James Wilson Price (Ruth Anne), of Big Stone Gap, VA; and Steven Douglas Price, of Phoenix, AZ; Grandchildren, Brain Thomas Kelley, of Johns Creek, GA, Adam Price Kelley, of Johns Creek, GA, Rachel Ann Price, of Ellijay, GA, and Joshua Wilson Price, Big Stone Gap, VA.
The family will receive visitors at 2:00PM on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Services will follow at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, 215 West Jackson Street, Dublin, Georgia 31021. Interment will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to First Baptist Church of Dublin, 405 Bellevue Avenue, Dublin, GA 31021, or to Trinity Christian School, 200 Trinity Road, Dublin, GA 31021.
