JoNell (Afdahl) Lee

JoNell A. Lee, age 69, of Dublin, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018.

JoNell (aka Hunny by her grandchildren) was born in Minot, North Dakota and relocated to Dublin with her family in 1960.   She graduated from Dublin High School in 1967.   For over 20 years she worked as an administrator for the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center in Panama City, Florida, where she made lifelong friendships with many Navy divers and their families.   This experience gave her a strong appreciation, admiration and love for our nation’s military and its military veterans.    All of her life, she had a special love for animals, especially dogs.  Hunny loved her grandchildren dearly and always enjoyed spending time with them.  She never missed a ballet recital or football season.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Afdahl and Bonnie Afdahl.

Survivors include her son; John Lee, grandsons; John Michael Lee, Joshua Lee, Jackson Lee, and Henry Lee, granddaughters; Grace Lee and Sarah Lee, all of Cumming GA and sister; Karen Roche of Dublin.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service for Mrs. Lee will be held graveside on Saturday July 21, 2018 at Dublin Memorial Gardens beginning at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.  www.angelsrescue.org.
