John D. Spivey

John D. Spivey, age 83, of Dublin, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018.

Services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Resurrection Assembly of God with burial to follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Rev. Nolon McDaniel will officiate.

Mr. Spivey was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired surveyor with the Department of Transportation. He was a member of the American Legion and attended Resurrection Assembly of God. He loved to shoot pool and deeply loved all his children and grandchildren. Mr. Spivey was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Spivey; parents, Herman and Avis Spivey; son, Bruce Spivey, and brothers, Joe Spivey, and Sam Spivey.

Survivors include his son, Jeffery Spivey, of Dublin; daughters, Donna Spivey Lake and Robin Copeland, both of East Dublin; brothers, Hugh Spivey, of Dublin and Ray Spivey, of Macon; grandchildren, Adam Lake, of Chesapeake, VA, Alex Johnson, of East Dublin, Misti Lake, of Atlanta, and Jasmine Copeland, of East Dublin; great-grandchildren, Allie Grace Johnson and Kylan Upshaw both, of East Dublin, and several nieces and nephews.
