John Carswell Willis, age 78, of Dublin, passed away on April 6, 2018.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, April 8, 2018 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Terry Sark and Rev. Phil Mills will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00PM until funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Willis served our country in the National Guard. He started working in the paper industry at Rayonier in Jesup, GA in the late 50’s. John moved to New Bern N.C. and worked at Weyerhaeuser for 10 years before moving to Dublin, GA and retiring from Southeast Paper Co.
He loved to drive his Ford pickup and watch the deer and turkeys while sitting in the sunroom. He loved meeting new people and engaging in conversations with others. Mr. Willis was a member of The Voice of Truth in Irwinton, GA and was a devoted husband, loving father, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Walker and Eula Dixon Willis and brother, James Willis.
Survivors include his wife, Latrelle Griffin Willis, of Dublin; son, John Brett Willis, of Dublin; brothers, Robert Lee Willis, of Topeka, KS, and Arnold J. Willis, of Modesto, CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
