Johnny Woodard

Johnny Woodard, age 73, of Dexter, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

Mr. Woodard retired from Mohawk Industries. He loved cows, as well as, hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Alta Mae Alligood Woodard and sister, Joanne Green.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne F. Woodard, of Dexter; sons, Steven (Amy) Woodard and David (Pam) Woodard, both of Dexter; daughter, Joan Woodard (Stan Neal), of Dexter; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Joey Diers will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Justin Woodard, Dylan Woodard, Avery Woodard, Ethan Thompson, Toby Alligood, and Josh Mullis. Honorary pallbearers will be Royce Alligood, Billy Fuqua, Eddie Marino, Buck Silas, Eugene Thomas, and Alvin Knight.
