Kirby O'Neal

October 21, 1974 ~ April 28, 2019 (age 44)

Kirby O’Neal, age 44, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019.

Mr. O’Neal was a native of Laurens County and a graduate of Dublin High School Class of 1993. He was a Sergeant, Sgt. 1371 and Combat Engineer I, in the United States Marines, serving in April 1994 until April 1998. He then worked with the Dublin Police Department from October 1998 until October 2000 before obtaining a position with CSX Transportation as a Locomotive Engineer. Kirby has been employed with the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center since May 2014, and also serves as the owner and operator of O’Neal Electric, LLC, as a master electrician.

Mr. O’Neal was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Ted Kirby; paternal grandfather, Mr. Ernest Eugene O’Neal; paternal step-grandfather, Mr. Lyndell Sexton, and brother, Jared O’Neal.

Survivors include his wife, Heather Holliday O’Neal, of Dublin; son, Brayden Paul O’Neal, of Dublin; daughter, Anna Jordan Anthony, of Dublin; parents, Steve and Lojuanna O’Neal, of Fort Payne, AL; brother, Ryan O’Neal (Chrissi), of Dublin; paternal grandmother, Betty Sexton, of Fort Payne, AL; nephew, Peyton O’Neal and Matthew O’Neal; and nieces, Tess O’Neal, and Ansley O’Neal.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

A memorial services with military honors will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Liberty Baptist Church. Pastor Chris Dixon will officiate.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Perry, Rob Lovett, Eric Allen, Chad Poole, Dillian Waters, Sammy Ricks, Peyton O’Neal, Matthew O’Neal, Clint Luecke, Joe Matthews, Blake Purvis, Jason Shiver and Brad Davis.
