Lettie Hanson Dixon, age 88, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on June 25, 2018.
She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother (Nana). She is remembered for her lovely sense of humor, wit, and her embracing everyone she met with a loving heart. She loved sewing and cooking but found her greatest joy in nurturing her family. A resident of Dublin most of her life, Lettie’s loving heart led her to serve as a nurse in her younger years where she met Morris Dixon, the love of her life for 59 years. She worked a number of years at J.P. Stevens/Forstmann. She also operated her own beauty salon in her home. She was a member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church in Dublin.
Lettie was preceded in death by her loving husband James Morris and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters Marsha (Jim) Epperly and Angie (Doug) Beighley, both of Marietta, grandson Tim Beighley of Marietta, granddaughter, Marisa Hattaway of Alpharetta, sisters Helen Leverette and Joyce Hancock both of Dublin, Wanda Harden of Saint Simons, Grace Edge of Uvalda, one brother, Johnny Hansel of Nashville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Doug Beighley, Glenn Leverette, Pete Peterson, Russell Perry, and Steve and Richie Dixon. Honorary pallbearer is Tim Beighley.
Memorial service and celebration of life will be held in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin on Friday, June 29 at 3pm. Viewing will precede the service beginning at 2pm. Burial will immediately follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens.
