Nolie Miller

Nolie Miller, age 97, of East Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Miller was born in Bulloch County on February 14, 1921 to the late Charlie and Lizzie Murray Motes. She was a resident of Laurens County most of her life and a member of Marie Baptist Church. Nolie worked for the Courier Herald as a carrier, retiring after 47 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed gardening and loved cooking, especially for family suppers and game nights. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and her big heart will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Nolie was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Miller; son, Rickey Miller; sisters, Ina Curry, Bea Deal, Dell Deal, Lonnie Faye Graham, and Ruby Smith; brother, Morgan Motes, and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Walker and Gloria Reese, and son, Bobby J. Miller (June), all of Dublin; six grandchildren, Jeff Dover (Kelly), of Canton, Greg Dover, of Kennesaw, Tonya Evans (Freddy), of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Angela Sheppard (Stan), Shane Miller, and Dana Reese (Kristin), all of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Savanna Dover, Jordan Dover (Kristin), Rex Evans, Reece Evans, Savannah Hamlin, Tyler Hamlin, Emily Miller,  Evan Donaldson, Stanley Sheppard, Garyson Smith, Carter Reese, and Tucker Reese; great-great-grandchildren, Dallas Dover and Ronan Dover, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Services for Mrs. Miller will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Marie Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Hutto will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Dover, Greg Dover, Shane Miller, Dana Reese, Freddy Evans, Jordan Dover, and Stan Sheppard. Honorary escorts will be her great-grandchildren.
