Patrick Richard Neville, age 72, of Dublin, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 16, 2018.
Mr. Neville was a native of Skokie, Illinois but called Dublin, Georgia home for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He attended Northwestern University was owner and operator of Middle GA Solar Control upon retirement. He enjoyed volunteering his time serving others through the Laurens County Meals on Wheels program and Gideon’s International.
Patrick was a member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church where he was a faithful member of the Adult Choir and the Emanuel Sunday School Class. He was also an avid golfer and member of the Good Ole’ Boys Golf Group. He was such a giving person and was always ready to do anything for anybody. He loved his family and doted on his grandchildren. Patrick was an avid fisherman, enjoyed deer hunting and had a compassionate heart for all animals. He was well known for his love of dancing and Studebaker automobiles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D.W. and Dorothy Price Neville; and his first wife, Jean Wells Neville.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Thomas Neville, of Dublin; sons, Kevin Thomas (Kim), Derick Thomas (Julie), and Brian Thomas (Ericka), all of Dublin; sister, Susan Sohr Romenesko (Mike), of Crivitz, WI; grandchildren, Blaire Thomas, Zach Thomas, Colby Thomas, Camden Thomas, Shelby Thomas, Christian Thomas, and Lilly Thomas; sister-in-law, Jan Bush McCord, of Conyers; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and his beloved “Buttercup”.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church with burial to follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Cecil Clegg, and Rev. Lock Wilford will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Tim Franks, Jimmy Hampton, Butch Hampton, Randy Hampton, Johnny Payne, Steve Brown, Jeff Brown, and Dan Rowe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie and Regenia Bracewell, Charles and Rita Watson, Ann Hollingsworth, Robert and Kay Webb, Danny and Dianne Bracewell, Kenny and Donna Webb, Claude and Celia Vines, Carol and Clinton Thomas, Frantz and Kathy Bruckmair, Athalia Sapp, Kennon Smith and members of the Emanuel Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the local chapter of the Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 27, Dublin, GA 31040.
