Paul Edward Walker, age 93, of Dublin, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019.
Services will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00PM until funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Lawrence Wiggins will officiate.
Mr. Walker was born in Johnson County to the late Luther J. and Callie Mae Sumner Walker. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War ll. Paul retired from Coca Cola Bottling Company after 41 years of dedicated service. He loved to travel and was blessed to experience traveling to all 50 states with his wife of 66 years. He was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson.
Mr. Walker found the good in everyone he encountered. He was an extremely hard worker on whatever project he undertook, personal or professional, and this made him an excellent leader and caring mentor for many people whose lives he crossed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Branch Walker, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his son, Edward Walker (Lynn), of Cartersville; daughter, Pamela Tate (Brian), of McDonough; grandchildren, Brandon Tate and Brianna Hause (Dylan), both of McDonough, and Caroline Walker and Jake Walker, both of Cartersville; great-grandson, Graham Hause; sisters, Ellen Phagan, of Eastman and Lorraine Jones, of Danville, and several nieces and nephews.
Charles Walker, Terry Brown, Jon Walker, Tony Brooks, Dwight Currie, and Lee Kinsey will serve as pallbearers.
Flowers are appreciated, however, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
