Richard Alan (Little Man) Johnson passed away unexpectedly at age 59 at his home in East Dublin, GA on December 12, 2019.
A man of few words, Richard had a quick wit, irreverent sense of humor, and a great big heart. He was quick to help friends, neighbors, and even strangers in need, never expecting anything in return. Independent, unpretentious, and occasionally exasperatingly stubborn, he lived life by his own rules and on his own terms. Richard loved the simple pleasures of life—especially turkey hunting, his dog Maggie, and helping his friends capture their turkey hunts on video. Mostly though, he loved his wife, Lisa, his son, Jeremy, and the time they spent together at their little house up the long dirt driveway out on Buckeye Road.
He was an inspiration and source of strength to everyone who knew him, especially to his sister, nieces and nephew, and his coworkers and students at Oconee Fall Line Technical College.
In addition to his wife and son, Richard is survived by his sister, Vickie Boothe who currently lives in New Orleans, LA, his niece, Karyn Boothe, and her son, Gage, from Acworth, GA, and his niece, Diana Boothe, who lives in Long Beach, CA.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 21st followed by a 1:00pm funeral service at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dublin Laurens County Humane Society or other animal shelter of your choice.
