Wallace Lamar Adkins, age 91, of Cadwell, entered into his eternal home on Sunday September 8, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He loved to gather with his family at reunions each year. Mr. Adkins was loved and Admired by many. In his earlier days, he loved to coon hunt and tend his family farm. Farming was his lifelong occupation.
Survivors include his wife, Winifred Sewell Adkins of Cadwell, daughter; Ann (Jimmy) Brown of Cadwell, son; Thomas (Melinda) Sewell of Dublin, daughter in law; Frankie Sue Adkins of Cadwell, grandchildren; Heather (Skip) Barber of Rentz, Tracy (Pete) Knoch of Dublin, Terry (Heather) Widener of Eastman, Thomas (Mary Jo) Sewell, Jr., Marty (Tammy) Lybrand, Matt (Candace) Lybrand, Jim (Bonnie) Brown, 23 great grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren,
Several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Adkins and Emma Hobbs, his son Lamar Adkins and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 10 in the Chapel of Townend Brothers Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the funeral hour. Rusty Brown and Rev. Greg Lowery will officiate, burial will follow in the Pleasant Olive Cemetery at Chester.
Terry Widener, Thomas Sewell, Jr., David Jones, Glynn Williams, Truitt Smith, Larry Brewer, Skip Barber and Pete Knoch will serve as pallbearers.
