William C. Thigpen

William C. Thigpen, age 91 of Minter, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019.  Mr. Thigpen was a lifelong resident of Laurens County and the son of the late Dan Thigpen and Annie Lee Stewart Thigpen. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and was a retired school bus driver.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wives, Ruby Thigpen, and Mary Hutcheson Thigpen, siblings; Edna Fountain, M.C. Thigpen, and Jerome Thigpen.

Survivors include his sons; Larry (Gale) Thigpen of East Dublin, Steve Thigpen of Minter,  grandchildren; Lana (Kyle) Dominy, Brittany Thigpen, Mark (Daisy) Thigpen, Shalesta Sanders, and 6 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Thigpen Cemetery.  Rev. Jordie Barwick will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.

Nathan Wood, Tommy Wood, Ricky Warnock, Ashley Smith, Larry Allison and Vickey Thigpen will serve as pallbearers.
