Services for Alan Luther Vestal, age 89, of Dublin, formerly of McRae, will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of McRae. Burial will follow in Telfair Memorial Gardens. Rev. Todd Crosby, Rev. William Connell and Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate. Mr. Vestal lived most of his life in Telfair County. He was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army and a member of the First Baptist Church in McRae. He retired from Roydon Wear. Inc. in 1988 after 37 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, George B. Vestal and mother, Lillian Spear Brown Vestal. Mr. Vestal passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Katie Lee Tally Vestal of Dublin; children, Alan (Bettie) Vestal of Clemmons, NC, Donna (Ronn) Ross of Valdosta, George (Charlotte) Vestal of Vienna and Mike (Deborah) Vestal of Dublin; ten grandchildren, Alan Lee Vestal, Melanie Vestal, Paul (Holly) Vestal, Natalie (Dan) Chesson, George (Sarah) Newbern, John (Stacie) Newbern, Katie (John) Giles, Sara (Brandon) Massey, Michael (Amber) Vestal and Matthew (Kristen) Vestal; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00PM until funeral hour at the First Baptist Church in McRae.
