A graveside service will be held for Alton Lynn Harrison, age 76, Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dublin Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Harrison was born February 9, 1947 in Dublin, Georgia to the late Alton Lamar Harrison and the late Frances Wells Harrison. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Dublin Irish class of 1966 marching band. He was in the United States Army Reserve. He worked for J.P. Stevens, where he met his wife, Linda. Alton and Linda married in April of 1969. He later went to work for Southern Bell and moved to Atlanta in 1969 before moving home in 1975. He worked for the same company for 44 years in which time he helped coach his kid's baseball and football teams and raised his family as the greatest father his kids could ask for. He was a member of Communication Works of America and retired in 2010.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Alan Harrison.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory is wife, Linda Harrison of Dexter; son, Alton Lee Harrison of Dexter; daughter, Laura H. Rogers (Will) of Lebanon, TN; son, Andy L. Harrison (Tressie) of Dexter; sister, Saralyn H. Smith (Oscar) of Minter; his seven grandchildren, Sarah V. McBride (Jake), Jacob Vickers, Demi Rogers, Emily Harrison (Brad), Hailey H. Williams (Evan), Lara Kate Harrison, and Alton A. Harrison; and his four great-grandchildren.
