Services for Ann Chambless Colter, age 80 of Rentz, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Rentz Baptist Church with graveside service to follow at Rentz Cemetery. Rev. Tom Vann will officiate. The family will receive friends at Townsend Funeral Home from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Mrs. Colter was a graduate of Rentz High School and Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, GA. She was retired from Fairview Park Hospital where she was the Director of Medical Records. She was a co-founder of a quilting club, Laurens Happy Quilters. Mrs. Colter was a member of Rentz Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Ray Chambless, and her husband, Jarrell Jackson Colter, Sr. She is survived by son: Andrew Ray Colter and his wife Betty of Vienna, GA; daughter: Catherine Colter Cunard and her husband Chris of Macon, GA; son: Jarrell Jackson Colter, Jr. of Gray, GA; mother: Ettie Thomas Chambless of Rentz, GA; sister: Betty Lynn Register and her husband Burts of Rentz, GA; sister: Cecille Brown and her husband Paul of Dublin, GA; grandchildren: Brandi Colter, Casey Colter, Alex Cunard, Rachel Cunard, Tripp Colter, Tyler Colter, and Cody Colter; great-grandchildren: Marley and Violet. Grandsons Casey Colter, Alex Cunard, Tripp Colter, and Tyler Colter, and nephews Gary Register and Jason Brown will serve as pallbearers.
