Obituary

The funeral service for Avis Hatcher, age 91, of Dublin, will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 14, 2016, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Danny Duggar and Rev. Darren Talley will officiate. Mrs. Hatcher died Tuesday, April 12, 2016.

Mrs. Hatcher was a lifelong resident of Laurens County and a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church. She retired from J. P. Stevens. Mrs. Hatcher volunteered for many years at the Salvation Army and served as a bailiff at the Laurens County Courthouse.

Mrs. Hatcher was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bertha Wood Warnock; husbands, Edwin Graham and Louis Hatcher; sisters, Bernice Johnson, Clemmie Warnock, Charlie Mae Warnock, and Mozelle Hall; and step-son, Dr. Lamar Hatcher.

Survivors include her children, Harry (Angie) Graham and Pat (Mike) Crowder, all of Dublin; grandchildren, Dana (Mike) Karoly, of Dublin, Cathy (Ben) McWhorter, of Lincolnton, Christy (Brian) Carter, of Dublin, Joanna (Tripp) Forth, of Dublin and Jenny (Ryan) Highsmith, of Statesboro; eight great grandchildren; step-son, Sidney Hatcher, and other extended family members.

The family would like to recognize, with special thanks, the staff of Twelve Oaks, Dublinair, and Serenity Hospice.

The family will receive visitors at the home of Mike and Dana Karoly.
