Barbara Sue Young, age 72, of Dublin, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020.

Mrs. Young was born in Laurens County on April 26, 1948, to the late Horace and Nina Barnhart Childers. She was a homemaker and an active member of Montrose Baptist Church. She was a lover of animals and enjoyed watching T.V. and spending time with her family at the lake and on the farm. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Young; sister, Carol Hammock; step-son, Billy Young, and step-daughter, Debra Lybrand.

Survivors include her sons, Travis Young (Jodie), of Montrose, Eric Young, of Dublin, and Brian Young (Becky), of Cadwell; daughters, Renae Clark (Casey), and Brandi Dacus (Nick), both of Dublin; step-son, Anthony Young (Lisa), of Dublin; step-daughters, Kitty Parham (Derrick), of Dublin, and Denise Prather (David), of Alamo; brother, David Childers (Joyce), of Dublin; 12 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, in the Montrose City Cemetery. Rev. Randy Mimbs will officiate. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home and Staff respectfully ask all in attendance to follow social distancing guidelines and masks are encouraged. The services will be live-streamed on the Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Facebook page for all who wish to watch remotely.
