Services for Ben F. Wammock, Jr., 63, of Adrian, will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Adrian, with burial in the Poplar Springs Cemetery in Adrian. Dr. Jack Key and Pastor Mark Hardin will officiate. Mr. Wammock, son of the late Bennie F. Wammock, Sr. and Cilla Wammock, was a native of Adrian. He graduated from Truett- McConnell College and the University of Georgia with a major in business. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. Ben worked as a sales and property management associate for Adrian Housing Corporation for more than 30 years before becoming a realtor with Durden & Kornegay Realty. Ben was a community and family man serving on the city council of Adrian for 12 years, a member of the Jaycees and a member of the United Methodist Church in Adrian where he served on the board as a trustee. Ben is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 43 years, Connie Wammock of Adrian; his children Melissa Wammock Zager (Steve) of Cumming, Tripp Wammock of Adrian, Chad Wammock (Cherra) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Brandi Wammock Smith (Shane) of Adrian; his grandchildren Maddison Zager, Sydney Wammock, Collin Wammock, Tyler Wammock, Gavin Coyt, Emily Coyt and Gannon Smith and his sister Sue Wammock of Atlanta. Pallbearers will be Gil Gillis, Hal Ward, Rick Reed, Mike Wammock, Reggie Belote, Mike Belote, Phillip Morris and George Durden. Honorary pallbearers will be Century 21 of Dublin. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Adrian Methodist Church, P.O. Box 267, Adrian, GA 31002; or to the National Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org/hope). The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5pm until 7pm. Family and friends arriving from out of town are welcome at the Adrian United Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The family will greet friends after the interment at Mr. Wammocks residence in Adrian.
