Mr. Ben Maddox was born on June 1, 1938, in East Dublin, Georgia, to the late, Huby and Eunice Maddox.
He worked as a mechanic most of his life with Ralph Jones & Jim Hammock, until opening his own business. Ben opened Maddox Garage in 1968 and later Maddox Used Parts in 1977. He retired in 2017. He was a member of the Shamrock Road Riders Gold-wings and attended Faith Christian Assembly.
Ben was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He passed away on November 22, 2021, at Fairview Park Hospital.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Earl Maddox, and Thomas (Shirts) Maddox; and son-in-law, Bubba Judd.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Jo Scott Maddox of East Dublin; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff Maddox (Tammy) of Macon; son, Tim Maddox of East Dublin; daughter, Cheryl Maddox Judd of East Dublin; grandchildren, Cameron Maddox Billingsley of Belle Isle, FL, Meghan Maddox Bondelan and Parker Maddox Knight, both of Texarkana, TX, Ashlie Maddox Dimmen (Casey Schaffer) of East Dublin, Casey Maddox of Dublin, Robin Maddox Schrader (Jared) of East Dublin, Addie Judd Powell (Austin) of East Dublin, and Benjamin Judd (Erica) of Wrens; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Sweat, Chance Lewis, Lylie Dimmen, Alysah Dimmen, Adam Judd, Adalee Schaarschmidt, Zoey Judd Schaarschmidt, Baylee Judd, Khole Judd, Cole Schrader, Jett Schrader, Emily Maddox, and Micah Maddox; sisters, Mildred Croom of East Dublin, Franice Oliver (Charlie) of Wrightsville, and Elaine Fountain of East Dublin; brother, Hubert (H.M.) Maddox (Teresa) of Unadilla, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Brother Doug Bridges will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Askew, Gunner Beasley, Josh Otto, J.D. Huffman, Cody Mason, and Benny Walker.
