Services for Bernice Lucille Alligood, age 103, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 19, 2016, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Grady Mimbs, Rev. Ken Rodgers, and Rev. Charles Alligood will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:30 AM. Mrs. Alligood died Thursday, November 17, 2016. At the time of her death, Mrs. Alligood loved her Lord and was the oldest living member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and choir member. Mrs. Alligood was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Dawson Braswell, Sr. and Emmie K. Fann Braswell; sisters, Lois Register, Louise Braswell, and Frances Woodard; and brothers, Preston Braswell, Marvin Braswell, and Samuel D. Braswell, Jr. Survivors include her sons, Edwin (Rosalyn) Alligood, of Dexter, Jimmy (Shirley) Alligood, of Dublin, and Billy (Jane) Alligood, of Dexter; grandchildren, Lynn (Bill) Dominy, Jeffrey Alligood, Mitchell Alligood, and Whitney (Erica) Alligood; five great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Betty Braswell, of Rentz. Whitney Alligood, Jeffrey Alligood, Tommy Braswell, Ricky Alligood, Heath Braswell, Tal Fountain, Mitchell Alligood, and Michael Alligood will serve as pallbearers.
