Services for Bertha Flynn Putnam, age 96, of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 24, 2014, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour. Internment services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 25, 2014 at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Spindale, NC. Mrs. Putnam died Friday, August 22, 2014. Mrs. Putnam was a member of First Baptist Church of Dublin and the Mary-Martha Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Eastern Star of Asheville, NC, and received the fifty year member pin. Mrs. Putnam was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey W. Putnam, and parents, William P. Flynn, and Mary Ida Brackett Flynn. Survivors include her daughter, Bobbie (Jim) Hawkins, of Dublin; grandchildren, James (Cheri) Hawkins, of Dublin, Kim (Tommy) Wilson, of Ocilla; great grandchildren, Brandi Wilson, T. J. (Lindsey) Wilson, Erin (Justin) Franks, Trey Hawkins; five great great grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Taylor, of Woodruff, SC, and Angelyn (C.W.) Melton, of Rutherfordton, NC.
