Services for Betty Sue Hitson Baldwin, of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery. Dr.Lamar Holley will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Baldwin died Saturday, January 31, 2015. Mrs. Baldwin, a retired teacher from the Dublin City School System, was a member of First Baptist Church. She was an active member of the WMU and the Hands of Ruth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Fordham Hitson and Molly Raffield Hitson; husband, Harris Baldwin, Sr.; son, Harris Baldwin, Jr.; sisters, Barbara Braddy, Fay Massey; and brother, Fred Hitson. Survivors include her children, Mollie Baldwin (Nina Creech), of Augusta, Carl Baldwin, (Gary Turner) of Arlington, VA; grandsons, Brian Shepherd (Lora) Baldwin, Ryan Allen (Autumn) Coxwell, both of Soperton; daughter-in-law, Vanessa Baldwin (Lynn) Hutchison, of Soperton; sister Peggy Hitson (Parks) Daniels, of Dublin; brothers-in-law, Luthell Braddy, Bob Massey, both of Dublin; numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Barry Brown, John Daniels, Cole Miller, Bobby Everly, Blake Carr, and Heath Miller will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Townsend Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. The family will be at the home of Peggy and Parks Daniels. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hands of Ruth, First Baptist Church, 405 Bellevue Avenue, Dublin, GA 31021.
