Graveside services for Betty Jo Dean, age 75, of Effingham County, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Myron Wise will officiate. Mrs. Dean was born in Brooklet, GA and was the daughter of the late John B. Stinson and the late Emma Smith Stinson. She was married to Marvin "Pee Wee" Dean, who was an Air Force Veteran, and they lived in various places around the world including Japan and Italy. After retiring, they returned to Laurens County. Following Mr. Dean's death, Mrs. Dean moved to Effingham County. She lived at the Effingham Care Center for the last few years of her life, where she enjoyed many friends. Survivors include her sons, David (Carla) Dean, of Rincon, Jack Dean, of Dublin, Kenneth (Janet) Dean, of Dudley; several grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Hunter Dean, Daniel Lee, Aaron Parker, Steven Dean, Joey Dean, and Philip Dean will serve as pallbearers.
