Mrs. Betty Jean Fordham, age 91, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

Mrs. Fordham was born November 26, 1930 in Rentz, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents the late John T. Silas & Beulah Barron Silas; her husband, Kelly C. Fordham, three sisters and two brothers. She was a longtime resident and member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church- Cadwell Community until they moved to McRae where they transferred their membership to the McRae First Baptist Church. Her family managed their own farm, mill, independent contracting and enjoyed their entrepreneurship. Her children spoke often of all the memories and lessons learned from working on the farm. Her favorite past-time was gardening and she could name so many different types of flowers and plants.

She is survived by her children, Lynn (Debbie) Fordham of Statesboro, Alesia (Paul) Evans of Macon and Darren (Angie) Fordham of Cordele; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Jack Lee officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions, in memory of Mrs. Fordham, be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, c/o Barbara Knight, 1697 Georgia Highway 126, Cadwell, Georgia 31009.
