Betty Jean Smith Minter, age 80 of East Dublin, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Serenity Place. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Janice Laster and Rev. Tim Tharp will officiate. Mrs. Minter's grandsons and nephew, Kenneth Sammons, will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Minter was born in Laurens County to the late Roy and Leila Muns Smith. She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene. She was a loving wife of 62 years and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Milton Minter of East Dublin; daughters, Debbie Melton (Phil), Millie Pierce (Robert), and Mahala Nix (Dwain), all of Dublin; son, Randall Minter (Polly) of East Dublin; grandchildren, Billy Jaudon, Andy Jaudon, Jeremy Carter, Jamie Carter, Jason Nix, Mandy Criswell, Brannon Minter, Chris Minter and Kimberly Pierce; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Currie, Clarie Wilkes and Joyce Brack and several nieces and nephews.
