Services for Betty Joyce Wood, age 84, of Dudley and Marietta, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. She was a graduate of Dudley High School, a member of Dudley Baptist Church and Smyrna Baptist Sunday School. Betty Joyce spent the last five years of her life at Golden Living Nursing Home in Marietta. She will long be remembered by the nurses there for her beautiful singing. They called her their "Little Songbird". She loved God, her family and Dudley friends and enjoyed singing, cooking, sewing and traveling. Betty Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. John D. Wood; sister, Myrtle Wright; and brother, Lorange Wood. She is survived by sisters, Sarah Dolder of Maple Park, IL and Lola Kimbro and Adeline Wood both of Marietta and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 2:00PM with Rev. Ed Ellington officiating. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until funeral hour.
